DC Skills Day - May 4, 2008

Postby Tyler » Tue May 06, 2008 7:31 am

On Sunday, DC hosted a skills day with our wonderful coach, Robert Haas from Trackcrafters. What a great day we had! Who knew practicing slow speed skills could be so exhausting yet rewarding as well! We had a great showing – 13 riders and a little bit of every kind of bike – dual sport, cruiser, sport bike, and touring!

But first, we had to start the day properly with some caffeination… that many women riders sure caused quite a stir. And Mary/Motomalia’s exuberance at having ridden on the freeway “ALL BY MYSELF!!!!” while she bounced all over the place like a rabid bunny was well worth the price of admission.

Robert walks the course for the next exercise to show where to be looking for entry/exit into and out of the turns – the ladies assumed the position and created their own little parade

And lucky for me, my Canon takes video footage (no sound unfortunately but I think it makes a little funnier!)

Finally, we were all getting low blood sugar from lack of sustenance (next time we’re ordering pizza!!), so it was time to break for the day and have some well earned lunch!
Image

Many, many thanks to Robert and Ehsan for giving up their riding time to help school us on ours. I was amazed at all the riders and the progress they made!
