After coffee, we headed for Cameron's in Half Moon Bay where we were greeted by more comrades - Lauretta and her husband Mike (so good to see them both!), Bob the Brit (complete with his new "magic" glasses to help him find his m'cycle keys that he had lost... more than once), Aussie Rob, Iris (who had the good (?) fortune to get a ride to the event with the two foreigners!), Doug, and Todd, a surprise entry given we thought he had to work that day! We began with some spirited rounds of foosball, air hockey, darts, and shuffleboard - at first good natured, and then the true spirit of the players came out as they knocked each other out of the running of the different games they played. There was much chatter as the new folks got to know the not-as-new folks... never have a group laughed so much upon first meeting! We supped on great burgers and good beer, laughed a lot, and – even though we were missing our two-wheel comrades (of course nary a drop of rain for the rest of the day… grrrr!), we had an enjoyable day and looked forward to our next chance to RIDE!! Well,
this was to be our first ride of the year but it turned out to be our
first non-ride ride of the year – actually one of our biggest turnouts
and not one 2-wheeled vehicle in sight… shhhhhh, don’t tell
anyone!! Determined to at least have a social get together, we met for
coffee despite the very moist weather - Audrey, Nat, Morris, Maureen,
CC, and Tyler all persevered through the weather - ok, ok, so we were
on 4-wheels but we still did it!
